Sovereign Grace Seminary

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:2

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Sovereign Grace Seminary (SGS) is to train men for a theological or bible-based teaching ministry. We do this by emphasizing Scripture throughout the coursework.  Truth changes lives, and, must be taught from our pulpits.  Striving to reach excellence and precision in our understanding of the truth SGS will present the straight truth as clearly seen in God’s Word.

EDUCATION

Sovereign Grace Seminary offers graduate-level biblical, theological, and professional education with the intent of equipping men to reach their communities for Christ through their local churches. The studies at SGS provide the ideal environment for the maturing of men into the depths God’s Word. Education is the gaining of knowledge and wisdom is the application of that knowledge.  Wisdom comes with diligent study of applying theology practically.

The studies cover eight disciplines of study:

  • Systematic Theology
  • Biblical Theology
  • Historical Theology
  • Pastoral Theology
  • Hermeneutics
  • Homiletics
  • Original Languages
  • Evangelism

The courses will not make a man qualified.  He must be qualified as the Bible teaches before he comes to study.  It is the qualified man who will come to SGS to become even sharper and more astute in their understanding of the Scripture.

Although many strive for degrees and prestige through accredited schooling, we are not accredited but purpose to give men the tools and the framework they will need to present the Truth accurately in their home churches.

RESULTS

We pray that every man that attends the studies of Sovereign Grace Seminary would:

·       Be diligent to present himself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handle the word of truth; (2 Tim. 2:15)

·       Speak and teach accurately the things concerning the things of Jesus; (Acts 18:25)

·       Be equipped to equip others for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ; (Eph 4:12-16)

·       Be zealous for the Body of Christ, in their local church, as Christ Himself desires to present the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless; (Eph. 5:27)

·       Proclaim Christ, to admonish every man and teach every man with all wisdom so that they may present every man complete in Christ (Col. 1:28) .

Foreign students are welcome.

We hope that you will join us!
