Ron, obviously love is to be a part of all we do, but is it not love to warn people their their church is a false church and most likely be leading them to hell? If love is not based in truth, it is not really love. John, the Apostle of Love wrote:

I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father. 5Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the anti-christ. Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds. 2 John 4-10

Even though he loved them, I do not believe that John would have thought it love to tell a person who was part of a church that taught justification by works, worship of entities other than God, continuing special revelation and that "if you don't get it quite right, no worries, you can work your way out of purgatory" - that they were on their way to inheriting eternal life.

Is it love to tell an obese person who smokes that their health is just fine? Or is it love to confront them with the realities of their state and attempt to motivate them to make changes?

Josh, If I (we) felt that your articles were written from a heart of love, I would make allowances for your viewpoint. I can only say that I pray to God that He gives you the gift of discernment and Christian love. You are severely lacking in both.

I Corinthians 13:1-8a (Darby's Translation)
"If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And if I shall dole out all my goods in food, and if I deliver up my body that I may be burned, but have not love, I profit nothing.
"Love has long patience, is kind; love is not emulous of others ; love is not insolent and rash, is not puffed up, does not behave in an unseemly manner, does not seek what is its own, is not quickly provoked, does not impute evil, does not rejoice at iniquity but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails;"
